Rita Joyce (James) Chandler

Rita Joyce Chandler, 76 years old, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN.  Joyce was born on August 7, 1940 in Rensselaer, IN to the late Charles and Dora (Shultz) James.  She was also preceded in death by one sister, Linda Fleming; and two brothers, Rex and Paul James. 

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Dona Lewis-Singleton of Chesterton, IN and Denise Chandler of St. Petersburg, FL; one son, Dennis Chandler; three grandchildren, Nick Lewis, Brittany Young, and Jacob Lewis; two great grandchildren, Kaiden and Isabell;  four sisters, Connie Wilkerson, Jeannie Liebo, Cheryl Wright, and Jane Hullings; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie James and Pat James, all of Rensselaer, IN.

Private services will be held.  There will be no visitation.  Joyce has donated her body  to science to assist education.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting with arrangements.   Contributions in memory of Rita Joyce Chandler may be donated to National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL  33131.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
