Roger W. Tinkel

Roger W. Tinkel, 62, from Plymouth, IN, passed away at 9:57 am Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Signature Healthcare in Bremen, IN. He was born December 31, 1952 in South Bend to the late Lewis W. and Helen J. (Huff) Tinkel.

On April 8, 1976 in Marion, IN, Roger married Shiela Tharp who survives. He was a retired truck driver for Preston Truck Lines, and a member of Teamsters.  He enjoyed camping, boating, waterskiing and snowmobiling with family and friends.  He cherished his grandchildren.

Roger is also survived by sons, Charles (Carrie) Tharp of Plymouth, IN and Scott Tinkel of  Loveland, OH; a daughter, Kimberly Shultz of North Liberty, IN; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Terrence (Carol) Tinkel of Bostick, NC and Keith (Joyce) Tinkel of New Carlisle, IN.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carolyn Johanson, brothers, Dale & Dean Tinkel, and a grandson, Cody Shultz.

Memorial services for Roger will be held at 11:00 Friday, March 6, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville IN, 46536. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Fair Cemetery in North Liberty, IN. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.  Southlawn Cremation Services assisted the family with the cremation process.
