Tracy and Ronnie,
I know this is a very hard time. You have both been in our prayers along with the kids. Loosing your Dad is so hard. You have been in our prayers. Wish we could have been there for you and with you. I have been keeping up on everything through your mom.
God Bless

Message from Penn High school
November 13, 2017 1:12 PM

I was very sad to hear the news of Ron's passing. He was a wonderful guy that I got to know a little bit during his time here at Penn. He and I would talk about our favorite team (the Cubs), and also about rock and roll. I think I met him when he wandered into my open classroom sometime after school one day - I was playing old records on my player here in the room, and we struck up a conversation about Roy Orbison or Johnny Cash, or some other early rock icon - maybe it was Chuck Berry. Ron was very knowledgeable about rock 'n roll, and baseball, and about education, too. He had some great stories, but always seemed to be most excited about talking about his grand kids, and their school projects and such. I didn't see him much this year, as I think he was moved to a different duty, but I did see him over the summer at a South bend Cubs game, where he also worked. We had a long conversation then as well, and I introduced him to my wife and family who were also along. I just wanted to let everyone know that I always found Ron to be a great guy, friendly and fun to talk to, and that we had quite a bit in common, despite the different careers we were in. My thoughts are with everyone in Ron's family. Scott Thompson / English Teacher at Penn High School, Room 152

My sincere and deepest condolences to Ron's family.

I was so stunned to hear of Ron's passing.

I will always remember Ron as a true gentleman. I immensely enjoyed our conversations at Penn. He often spoke of his dear family. Know that he deeply loved each of you, and know too, that he dearly treasured being "Papa".

May God be with all of you during this time of sadness. As the days pass, may joyful memories and solemn peace replace the sorrow in your hearts.

Ron will be missed in the halls of Penn High School. You could always rely on a happy face and good conversation. Ron enjoyed coming down to the engineering area to talk about an interesting thing he read about or the neat projects the kids were working on. Ron was always so excited about bringing his grandson to the camps so he could experience the new things.
We will miss you Ron.
