Russell D. Geyer

August 14, 1920 ~ July 17, 2016 (age 95) 95 Years Old

 Russell D. Geyer, 95 years old, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. Mr. Geyer was born on August 14, 1920 in Lakeville to the late Walter “Bob” W. and Lulu M. (Seese) Geyer. He has remained a lifelong resident of Lakeville. On December 1, 1945 in Lakeville, Russell and Jeanne K. Elmerick were united in marriage.
  Along with his loving wife of seventy years, Jeanne, Russell is survived by their four sons, Roger L. Geyer, David L. Geyer and Harold W. Geyer, all of Lakeville, and William A. Geyer of South Bend; one grandson, Adam Geyer; one brother, Harold (Patty) Geyer of Lakeville; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Geyer of Lakeville and Phyllis Geyer of South Bend. Mr. Geyer is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. One sister, Betty Heckaman; and three brothers, Dale, Loren, and Robert Geyer, all preceded their brother in death.
  Mr. Geyer has been a lifelong farmer. In 1955, he worked at Studebaker Corporation where he was employed for 13 years. Mr. Geyer drove school bus for Lakeville schools for 10 years and was a member of the Union-North United School Board for 14 years. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during WWII and was a faithful member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church.
  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. Brian White will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lakeville United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, is assisting the Geyer family.
