SOUTH BEND – Ruth M. Miller Arsenault, 89, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:40 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Hospice House, Elkhart.  Ruth was born on October 5, 1927 in South Bend to the late Jessie D. Bashore and Myrtle Irene (Pinckert) Bashore and has been a lifelong resident of this area.

On December 24, 1946 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Robert Miller, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1972.  Ruth and Robert were blessed with two sons, Michael and Kevin.   On September 22, 1990 in South Bend, Ruth was united in marriage to Edmond Arsenault, who has also preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.  Ruth worked for 15 years with South Bend Water Works, retiring in 1992.  Ruth attended Christian Center Church, South Bend and was a member of the Moose Auxiliary #58 and the Fraternal Order of Police #36.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Michael R. Miller of Georgetown, KY and Kevin W. Miller of South Bend; six grandchildren; and her brother, Howard (Barbara) Bashore of Knox, IN.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Apple, Lorraine Taylor, and Joy Wiggins; and her brother, Ralph Bashore.

Funeral services for Ruth will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Christian Center Church, 530 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, IN 46614 where friends may gather with the family one hour prior to services.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Memorial contributions may be given to Christian Center Church or to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.  Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
