Sandra was born September 29, 1957 to the union of Ray and Helen Agnew, who both preceded her in death. She departed this life on Saturday, April 15, at Memorial Hospital.
Sandra attended school locally and was previously employed by the School Bend School Corporation and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Her hobbies included crafts, reading and watching soap operas. The thing she enjoyed most was spending time with family. She confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at New Birth Christian Ministries, where she attended faithfully when her health permitted.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Damon Willis of Columbus, OH; daughter Brittany Dorsey and long time friend Thomas Brown; seven brothers: Willie, Melvin, Robert (Bobby) Agnew of South Bend, Joe Nathan of Phoenix, AZ, Roy of Bloomington, IN and Anthony (Renee) Agnew of CA; four sisters: Bonnie (Jessie) Gathright, Betty (Charles) Campbell of South Bend, Dr. Rosemary Meracle of Santa Ana, CA and Ethel Agnew of Marietta, GA; brother-in-law Howard Martin; sister-in-law Shirley Agnew, both of South Bend. Sandra also leaves behind two grandchildren: Damika and Malanea; a third granddaughter scheduled to arrive on April 27; two godchildren, Carmoni and Carlaya, along with a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored. Also preceding her in death were daughter Whitney, brother L.C., sister Estella and niece Crystal.
Services will be held at noon on Monday, April 23 at New Birth Christian Ministries, 749 Harrison Street, South Bend. Visitation for one hour prior. Palmer Funeral Homes - West Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be left on the funeral home website.
