Sandra A. (Brown) Weir

Sandra A. (Brown) Weir, 67, of Carson City, NV, passed away peacefully on July 11th with her two sons, Chris and Jeff, at her side. Sandy was born in December 1947 in Mishawaka, IN to Stanley and Ruth (Eber) Brown. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley H.S. in South Bend, IN in 1966. After attending Purdue University, she graduated from Indiana University in 1970, married and had three sons, Chris, Jeff and Andrew Fulmer. In 1983, Sandy earned her MBA from IUSB and worked almost a decade for RR Donnelley and Sons in Crawfordsville, IN. In 1994 she chose to join her mother and sister by becoming an elementary school teacher. Sandy accepted a teaching position with Douglas County Schools in Nevada and loved the challenge of inspiring gifted, young minds at Jacks Valley, Pinion Hills and Zephyr Cove elementary schools. Sandy retired in 2003. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sandy was a Master Gardener, lung transplant recipient, glass and fiber artist,

Sandy  is survived by her sons, Chris and Jeff (Maria), grandchildren Andrew and Sophia, her sister Judy (Dave) Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and son, Andrew. 

Services will be held on Thursday, July 23 at the Highland Cemetery Chapel, South Bend, IN at 1pm. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
