Sharon Lee Kindt

June 6, 1939 ~ November 23, 2015 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Sharon Lee Kindt, 76, of South Bend, IN passed away at 6:15 AM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.  Sharon was born on June 6, 1939 in South Bend, IN to the late John H. and Katherine (Daurer) Heckman.  She was a life-long resident of South Bend.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Glen) Ritchey of Westfield, IN; her son, Craig Kindt; her grandchildren, Dustin Kosar of Elkhart, IN; Joshua Kosar of Mishawaka, IN, Wendy Ward of Osceola, IN, Anna Ritchey and John Ritchey, both of Westfield; four great-grandchildren, Daisy, Kaiden, Kamden and Brody; her sisters, Beverly Kelver of Mishawaka and Shirley (Walt) Carter of Osceola; her brothers, Terry Heckman of South Bend and Cloyd (Lois) Heckman of Lakeville, IN.  Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Ward, who passed away on January 14, 2015; her sisters, Marjorie Jones and Doris Andrade and her brothers, Carl, Carroll, Clifford, Clem and Calvin Heckman.

Sharon retired after 30 years in the restaurant industry; working at Chick Fil-A, the former Bishop’s Buffet, MCL in Elkhart, IN and as a hostess for Kroger’s.  She cherished spending time with her family.  Sharon was a welcoming, people person who never met a stranger.  She was quick with a smile, an encouraging word and brought joy wherever she went.  People, relationships and her faith were the most important to her.  She was a member of St. Matthew’s Cathedral in South Bend. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 1701 Miami St, South Bend, IN.  Rev. Chris Lapp will officiate.   Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel; 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN. Visiting will conclude with a rosary and eulogy, beginning at 6:30.
