Shirley C. Pease

July 27, 1932 ~ February 7, 2016 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Shirley C. Pease, 83 years old, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  Mrs. Pease was born on July 27, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Andrew and Alma (Johnson) Hartman.  She has been a resident of South Bend since 1974.  On July 1, 1950 in North Lake, IL, she was united in marriage to Rolland “Randy” Pease who preceded her in death on September 13, 2009.  Mrs. Pease was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Pease, on May 24, 2009; sister, Irene Pease; and brother, Andrew Hartman, Jr.

Mrs. Pease is survived by her daughter, Terri (David) Bowling of Indianapolis, IN; grandson, Daniel (Jessica) Pease of Indianapolis, IN; two step grandchildren, Tony (Stacy) Bowling of Clarksville, TN and Donald (Cassie) Bowling of Summertown, TN; two great grandchildren, Amber and Tiffany Pease; two step great grandchildren, Shelby and Wyatt Bowling; brother, Leon Hartman of Las Vegas, NV; and her traveling companion and best friend, Walter Stitt of South Bend. 

Mrs. Pease retired as accounts payable supervisor from RACO after 14 years of employment.  She attended  the former Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church  and was attending Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, both of South Bend.  She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Leighton Center, Memorial Hospital, and Morris Civic. 

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 51900 Mayflower Road, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.  A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN where she will be interred next to her husband and son. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting with funeral arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Shirley C. Pease may be donated to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 51900 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN  46628, Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN  46545, or Memorial Children’s Hospital, 615 N.
