Steven L. McCreery

May 4, 1947 – March 29, 2017

Steven L. McCreery, 69, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 10:24 pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  As a welder, he previously worked for Fabricated Steel, South Bend and retired from Pirod in Plymouth. Steve was born on May 4, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Daniel and Frances (Soto) McCreery.  On September 17, 1966 in Niles, MI Steven was united in marriage to Charlene Russell McCreey.

Along with his loving wife, Charlene McCreery, Steven is also survived by three sons, Steve (Lynn) McCreery, Tim (Jamie) McCreery and Andrew McCreery all of South Bend; twelve grandchildren, Steven, Timothy, Kyle, Jack, Eric, Kaylie, Andrew, Shayna, Brianna, Savanna, Joy, Malakai; twelve great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Donna, Denise and John “Buster” (Vickie) McCreery all of Iowa. One grandson, Daniel, preceded in death.

Steven was an avid hunter; loved to camp and fish.  He enjoyed talking on his Hamm and CB Radios with a handle of “Coal Roll”.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 3, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am on Monday until time of services.
