Wayne Ralph Savage

Wayne Ralph Savage, age 68, celebrated his homecoming with the Lord on February 12, 2017.
Wayne was born November 5, 1948 in Marion, Ohio, the youngest son of John and Donna Savage. Wayne was raised in Green Camp, Ohio where he enjoyed life on the farm with his two brothers and sister.
He attended Green Camp Elementary and graduated from Elgin High School in 1968. His senior year, he began his railroad career and was employed by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad.
Wayne enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968. He served during the Vietnam conflict as an aircraft instrument technician from 1968-1972.
Wayne became a railroad engineer and served in this capacity for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2009.
Wayne found his greatest enjoyment in sharing his love for the Lord and serving others in God’s name. He will be remembered for his generosity and his ability to unconditionally love others.
Wayne met his wife Deborah in 1972 at Westover Air Force Base in Springfield, Mass.
Wayne is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Deborah, daughter Melissa (Greg) Dwinell, son Robert (Sandy) Savage, daughter Jennifer (Mike) Hansen, and son Ted (Corina) Savage where he resided and received loving care. He was loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the Marion, Ohio area, Wayne is survived by his brother John (Peg) Savage, brother Paul (Glena) Savage, his sister Paulette (Ray) Malone, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a memorial service held at the home of Ted (Corina) Savage in Edwardsburg, MI.  The service will be officiated by his dear friends and cousins Tom and Linda Spitzer. For further details on the service please contact Palmer Funeral Home Hickey Chapel.
