Willard Joseph Nailon, Sr.

Willard Joseph Nailon, Sr. 75, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:25 am Friday, May 27, 2016 peacefully in his home.  He was born on April 4, 1941 in South Bend, IN to the late Eddie and Inergene (Dortch) Nailon, Sr..  On April 4, 2007 in South Bend, IN he was united in marriage to the former Cheryl Annette McDonald.

Mr. Nailon is survived by his wife, Cheryl "Cheri" A. Nailon; son, Dr. Willard Todd (Stephanie) Nailon, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Ebony Nailon-Ewing of South Bend, IN and son, Willard Joseph (Tyanna) Nailon, II of South Bend, IN; other children, Steven Logan and Kimberley Logan, both of South Bend, IN;  eleven grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Nailon of South Bend, IN, Janet McCambry-Robinson of Gardena, CA and Mary Jo O'Hara of Normal, IL and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edna Beverly, Eddie Nailon, Jr. and Merlin Nailon. 

Mr. Nailon was a lifelong resident of South Bend.  He worked as a maintenance engineer for the South Bend Community School Corporation, retiring in 2006 after twenty-seven years of service.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Palmer Funeral Home-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
