William A. Sommers

William A. Sommers, 61, a resident of Plymouth, IN passed away at 2:01 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the home of his brother, Tim.  Bill was born on September 29, 1954 in LaPorte, IN to the late Alfred and Dona (Walters) Sommers.  He was a traveler and lived in many different parts of the United States, always coming back home to be with his family.  Bill was a talented carpenter.  He served his country with the United States Army. 

Bill is survived by his two children, Deserra (Jason) Lewis of Atlanta, GA and Nicholas (Jacquelyn) Sommers of Roby, MO; four grandchildren, Shenley, Oren, Ryean, and Kai; the mother of his children, Penny Sommers of Culver, IN; one sister, Penney Sommers of Tennessee; three brothers, Marc (Leah) Sommers of Albuquerque, NM, Tim Sommers of Plymouth, IN, and Rich Sommers of Plymouth, IN; three nephews, Joshua Sommers of Utah, Jared (Elaine) Sommers of Plymouth, Zachary (Claudia) Sommers of Hawaii; and one niece, Alyson Sommers of Tennessee.  Along with his parents, one brother, Chic Sommers, preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the BNR Building, 194 S. Michigan Street, Argos, IN  46501.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting with funeral arrangements.
