William "Bill" H. Sahlhoff

William “Bill” H. Sahlhoff, 89 years old, passed away at 4:51 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at his home.  Bill was born on December 2, 1927 in Mishawaka to the late William and Sarah Sahlhoff.  He has remained a lifelong resident.  On June 17, 1982 in Bremen, Bill and V. Arlene  (Nye) Cherrone were united in marriage.  He was a truck driver for 36 years prior to retiring and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Bill loved to help others and donated greatly by volunteering his time. 

Along with his loving wife,  Arlene, Bill is survived by one son, Rick Sahlhoff of Michigan; seven step-children, Steven (Sue) Cherrone of Michigan, Michael (Jessica) Cherrone of Bremen, Christopher (Marilyn) Cherrone of Lakeville, Andrew Cherrone of Michigan, Marty Cherrone of Florida, Linda Young of Virginia, and Kenneth (Lynnisa) Jones of New Paris; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Preceding Bill in death was his daughter, Sandra Sahlhoff; step-son, Daniel Cherrone; two sisters, Lillian and Evelyn; and two brothers, Frank and Ed Sahlhoff.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Pastor Steve Cox will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of William “Bill” H. Sahlhoff may be donated to the Little Flower Parish Food Pantry, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN  46635 or to  the Lakeville United Methodist Church Food Pantry, P.O.
