Willie "Gene" Eugene Hensley

Willie “Gene” Eugene Hensley, 76 years old, passed away on Thursday morning, February 23, 2017.  Gene was born on December 4, 1940 in Collinwood, TN to the late J. D. and Dorthy (Hinton) Hensley.  He retired from Milan Transportation as a truck driver.  On December 28, 1974 in South Bend, Gene and Elena “Kris” Atkinson were united in marriage. 

Along with his loving wife, Kris, survivors include three daughters, Theresa (Aaron) Butterfield of Arizona, Diana (Rufino, Sr.) Gayton of Rolling Prairie, and Connie (Jimmy) Englebrecht of South Bend; two sons, Jimmy (Denise) Hensley of Elkhart and William (Janet) Davis of Osceola; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry (Bonnie) Hensley of Bremen, IN and Jeff (Judy) Hensley of Collinwood, TN.  Gene was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hensley.

In following with Gene’s wishes, there will be no services.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend and Southlawn Cremation Services is assisting his family.
