Darlene A. Gordon

Darlene “Dee or Gi-Gi” Anne Gordon, 78 years old, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 28, 2024 at Hellenic Senior Living in Mishawaka.  Darlene was married to Thomas R. Gordon, who preceded her in death in 2020.  Darlene was the daughter of Ruth Marie and Frederick Zigert who also preceded her in death.  Surviving are her children; Melissa “Lisa” (Tom) Abell, Lori Hildebrandt, Jack Dorman, Kaare Dorman, Danine Dorman, and Hillary Gordon.  Darlene has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and while she did not see them in recent years, they were always in her thoughts and prayers.

Darlene was an avid fisherwoman.  She spent many hours down at the river on Monkey Island hoping to “catch the big one!”, her passion and her favorite way to pass the time.  Her eldest daughter Lisa remembers this being something they did a lot as a family growing up.  Lisa also enjoys fishing with her grandson.

Darlene loved birds as well and spent time colleting pictures of them and feeding them.  Hummingbirds were her favorite.  Her other hobbies included; collecting jewelry, doing puzzles, writing, and coloring.  She wanted to publish a children’s book and she spent a lot of time writing.
