Heidi Kingma Bogart Obituary

Heidi Jane Kingma Bogart, 65, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, in the Ernestine M. Raclin House. She was born July 29, 1956, in Pontiac, IL to the late Ed and Jane (Smith) Kingma.

Heidi was a 1974 graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend and remained a lifelong area resident. She was employed as a church secretary prior to retirement. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, crochet, and needlework. She was an avid reader, loved fishing, and had a passion for animal rescue.

Heidi is survived by her daughters, Maggie Waterhouse and Elaine Waterhouse, both of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Morrigan McCaslin (Conner), Chase Waterhouse and Braeden Robakowski; one great-grandson, Kian Kowalski; and five sisters, Connie (Ray) Leader of Coal Valley, IL, Cyndi Kingma of Deland, FL, Candie Kingma of Indianapolis, Hildy Kingma of Matteson, IL and Jennifer (Mike) Gress of Wilmington, OH.

A celebration of life for Heidi will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to “Just Enduring” - a foundation that was born out of the loss of Heidi’s niece Everly, at four months. They provide child loss resources to parents as soon as they need them and offer information from funeral planning to tips on how to tell surviving siblings about the loss, to connecting with other bereaved parents who can best understand the enduring pain.
