Jacqueline Anderson Obituary

Jacqueline D. Anderson, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at the age of 86 in Grand Emerald Place. Born on July 3, 1937, in LaPorte, IN, she was the cherished daughter of the late Clyde and Agnes (Williams) Freese. Jacqueline's gentle spirit and faith-filled heart touched all who knew her.

Jacqueline's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David "Bob" Anderson, who passed away on October 16, 2015, and her brother, Clyde Freese, Jr. Her legacy continues through her loving children: Judy (Tom) Rossow of South Bend, Sue Anderson of South Bend, Jacqueline Anderson of Mishawaka, Lora (Steve) Loche of Rochester Hills, MI, Dave (Christine) Anderson of Saratoga, CA, Jim (Connie) Anderson of St. Charles, MO, and Rob (Elaine) Anderson of Bryn Mawr, PA. Jacqueline was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Freese of LaPorte.

For 25 years, Jacqueline served her community as an Avon sales representative, retiring in March of 2008. Her intelligence and love for life were evident in her passion for crossword puzzles, reading, and tending to her garden. Jacqueline's conversations often revolved around her grandchildren, and she took great pride in her seven children, all of whom are upstanding citizens with successful careers.

Visitation for Jacqueline will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, where family and friends may begin to gather at 10am. Jacqueline will be laid to rest at Southlawn Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her husband.


Jacqueline was a woman of great faith, and her gentle demeanor was a comfort to all. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she touched. Jacqueline Anderson will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
