Michael Gene Swanson

Michael Gene Swanson, 75 years old, passed away at 8:44 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.  Michael was born on February 12, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa to the late Carl and Irene (Hendrickson) Swanson.  On August 12, 1973, Michael and Eleanor K. “Bunny” Heintzelman were united in marriage.  Michael worked for INDOT for many years.

Michael is survived by his wife, Bunny, of 50 years and their five children, Susan Swanson, Jeffrey Swanson, Dennis Swanson, Adam (Amanda) Swanson, and David (Nicole) Swanson.  He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and their families; one sister; and four brothers.

There will be no services.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Michael G.
