Nancy Quam Obituary

Nancy B. Quam, 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Hearth at Juday Creek in Granger, IN. Nancy was born on February 14, 1933 in South Bend, IN, to Forrest and Jewel (McHenry) Brockway, both of whom preceded her in death.

On July 4, 1953 in South Bend, Nancy married Jerry Quam, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1996. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Brian) McMenamin of Sarasota, FL; sons, Kirk C. Quam of Elkhart, IN; Kenneth C. (Kaye) Quam of Monticello, GA; and Keith A. Quam of Mishawaka, IN; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Forrest “Butch” Brockway of California. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, George Brockway.

Nancy was a graduate of Central High School as well as Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a nurse for more than 60 years—working 27 of those years for Visiting Nurses Association. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. She also served as a member of American Business Women’s Association.

A private graveside service and burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, IN. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Contributions in memory of Nancy may be donated to Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617.
