Rev. John Mummert Obituary

Rev. John Ronald Mummert, Dr. of Ministry, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Memorial Hospital.  He was 80 years old.

He was born November 9, 1941, in East Berlin, PA, a son of the late Roy H. Mummert and Edith Lines.  On June 20, 1969, in Middletown, Ohio, he was united in marriage to Constance L. Sorrell, who survives.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald H. Mummert.

Ron attended Elizabethtown College for his undergraduate studies before going on to receive a Master of Education from Miami University, as well as a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Bethany Theological Seminary and had been ordained for 55 years.

Along with wife, Connie of 53 years, Ron is survived by his son, Shawn Patrick (Tonya Krouse) Mummert of Ft. Thomas, KY and sister Mary Lou Wire-Nieznanski from Palm City, FL. 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Crest Manor Church of the Brethren, 1342 Berkshire Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00am at the church.
