Roberta A. (Wells) Ritz

Roberta A. Ritz, 92 years old, passed away at 8:19 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  Roberta was born on December 5, 1929 in Smithfield, OH to the late Richard T. and Mary C. (Burkett) Wells.  She has lived in the South Bend area since 1972, moving from California.  

Roberta is survived by her two sons, Gary Ritz of South Bend and Randy (Dawn) Ritz of Argos; four grandchildren, Shawn (Tricia) Markin, Cherri Smith, Zachary (Julia) Goad, and Keith Ritz; and eight great grandchildren, Amelia, Dennilyn, Parker, Emma, Shawn Collin, Jaxon, Olivia, and Jayden.  Along with her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her grandson, Jay Markin, her sister, Mary Barricklow and two brothers, Richard and Don Wells.

Roberta retired as the office manager for Janco Composites where she was employed for over 20 years.  She was a 1947 graduate of Smithfield High School and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.   Roberta enjoyed going to the library and visiting family.  She loved her family and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
