Steven Egendoerfer Obituary

Steven P. Egendoerfer, 73, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, in South Bend, Indiana. Born on September 24, 1950, in Mishawaka, Indiana, Steven's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Mishawaka High School, Steven joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968.  Having served in the Vietnam War he was honorably discharged in1970.

Steven then entered the apprentice program for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He proudly worked for 43 years of service as an electrician with IBEW Local 153, where he not only contributed to his community through his work but also formed lifelong friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues.

His dedication to his work was matched only by his role as a provider for his family, ensuring their needs were always met with the same precision and care that he applied to his profession. Steven spared nothing to give his wife, Pat, and children, Sara and Steven Jr., anything.

His grandchildren, Keller and Kassidy, will carry with them the memories of a grandfather whose love knew no bounds and whose presence was a source of constant support and happiness.  He gained the title of Pops which gave him tremendous pride and joy anytime he heard them call him by that.

Beyond family, Steven loved college football and followed the Notre Dame Fighting Irish regularly.

Steven's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his son, Steven P. Egendoerfer II, and his daughter, Sara (Robert) Barto. He was a cherished brother to Tom (Rita) Egendoerfer, Phillip Egendoerfer, Toby Egendoerfer, and Nancy (Tom) Maggart.  Steven was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Egendoerfer, and his parents, Donald and Naomi Egendoerfer.

A hard worker to the core, Steven's life was a testament to the values of dedication, family, and community. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, yet his influence will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
