Thomas J. Acheson

Thomas J. Acheson, 59 years old, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023 from natural causes.  Tom was born on July 11, 1963 in Arlington Heights, IL to the late Paul and Cecelia (Madeford) Acheson.  He has lived most of his life in South Bend and was educated at Riley High School, Class of 1981.  Tom worked for Royal Excursion.

Tom is survived by his beloved dog, Bandit “Bubby”; sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and Kirk Taylor of Richmond, TX; and four nephews, Josh (Tricia) Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Aaron Taylor and Brandon Taylor.  He is also survived by extended family and many friends who also loved him. 

A time of gathering to celebrate Tom’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend.  A private burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be donated to Palmer Funeral Home, 3718 S.
