Ace L. Carman Jr.

A.L. "Ace" Carman, Jr., 96, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Trailpoint Village in South Bend, IN. He was born on April 20, 1921 in Corinth, MS to Acy and Emma (Hutson) Carman, both of whom preceded him in death. 

Ace was united in marriage to Eva Newcomb, who preceded him in death on March 24, 2008. Ace is survived by daughters Patricia (Carmon) Bower (William) of Union, SC, Janice (Carmon) Clair-Winters (Mike) of Cape Coral, FL and son Alton "Al" W. Carmon (Sandy) of South Bend, IN. Ace was preceded in death by daughter Wanda Carmon on May 11, 2017. 

Ace was a retired auto mechanic, having worked at various repair shops throughout the years. He was a proud grandfather to ten and great-grandfather to thirteen. 

Memorial services for Ace will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19 at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Father Kevin Bauman will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial of ashes to follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
