Alesia Colvin Obituary

Alesia Michelle Colvin, 62, of Granger, IN, passed away suddenly at her home on May 11, 2018. Alesia was born on July 2, 1955 in Macon, GA.

She was the exceptionally loving and caring wife of James Colvin, whom she married on December 7, 1991. Together they shared over 26 years of love, and created so many special memories with each other and their families. In addition to her husband, Alesia was the proud and loving mother to her children, Rachael Shirk, Emily Siegel, Gage Siegel, and Jimmy Colvin; along with her daughter-in-law, Zoë Siegel and future son-in-law, Troy Fink. Alesia was the daughter of Helen Malmquist and the late Carl Malmquist of Cleveland, TN, whom she cherished, honored and loved to the end. She is also survived by siblings, Natasha (Mike) Cannon, Yvonne (Ron) Caldwell, Mark Bachman and Nicole Malmquist; and step-brother, David (Pat) Malmquist. She was the Granny to Corey Shirk and Sage Bradley and was "Over the Moon and Back" to becoming the Granny to the recent birth of Haven Olivia.

Alesia was also known as the "Special Aunt" to several nieces and nephews. Alesia was loved dearly by her mother-in-law, Ruth Colvin; late father-in-law, James Colvin; sister-in-law, Leah (Tim) Kochendoerfer; and Aunt Wilma "Mimi" Martin; along with many others within her husband's family. Finally, Alesia leaves behind her favorite furry friends, dogs Benji and Krugie, and her cat, Mr. Kitty, whom she referred to as her other children.

Alesia was such a special, loving, and caring person that took a house and made it into an exceptional home with her gifted creativity. Her children and her husband were always the main focus in her life, and she always strived to serve them and their families with her selflessness. Alesia was known to be that person that could connect with anyone about anything. Once you met her, you felt that you had known her for several years.  Alesia will be so sadly missed by her family and to all who came to know her. Our faith is that some day we will see Alesia again in a place that we can't even imagine, and a place where there is no sorrow, no suffering, and no tears.

The family asks only for your prayers to receive comfort, peace and strength through this tragic loss. God Bless Alesia and God Bless All That Knew Her.
