Audrey Joan (Dye) Frank

Audrey Joan Frank, 91, resident of South Bend since 1984, passed away at 8:05 PM, Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Sanctuary at St. Pauls.

Joan was born June 10, 1927 in Leesburg, Indiana, to the late Dewey Eldon and Catherine (Ehman) Dye.

She graduated from Riley High School.

On April 4, 1959 at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, Joan married Thomas Joseph Frank; and he survives.  They would have celebrated their sixtieth year Anniversary in April.

Joan worked in sales at the Brooks Fashions at the Concord Mall.  She also was a teacher’s aide for two years at the Hawthorne Elementary School.  She enjoyed helping out at the kids’ schools, as well as being involved in the PTA.

Surviving is her husband of fifty-nine years; Tom J. Frank of South Bend, two daughters; Denise (Bryan) Ruddick of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sharon (Don) Young of Vancouver, Washington, and a son; Edward (Michelle) Frank of Greenville, South Carolina.  Also surviving are her three loving grandchildren; Alex, Elizabeth, and Samuel, as well as a brother; Thomas John (Tina) Dye.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother; James Dewey Dye.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s Chapel, 3602 South Ironwood Road, South Bend, with Rev. Herbert Yost, C.S.C. as the Celebrant.  Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at 10:00 AM.

Interment of her ashes will be at 2:30 PM, Saturday at the Southlawn Cemetery.
