Barbara M. "Barbie" Michaels, 75, residing in Mishawaka, IN; passed away at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

She was born March 6, 1943 in South Bend, to Robert S. & Wilma (Yoder) Geyer, and was a graduate of North Liberty High School.  On August 31, 1991 in Mishawaka, she was united in marriage to Norman J. Michaels who survives. She is also survived by a step-son, Kevin (Nancy) Michaels, three step-grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Shirley (Jerry) Campbell of Bremen, IN; a brother, Charles R. Geyer of New Carlisle, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son, Mike J. Michaels.

Barbie worked as a receptionist and office worker in the area.  She was a member of New Life Church in Osceola. She was involved with 4-H for nine years, was an avid IU Basketball fan, kept her home immaculate, love her dogs, gardening, and enjoyed collecting pig figurines.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend.  Dr. Michael Cramer, pastor of New Life Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
