Billy Ray Stump, Jr.

Billy Ray Stump, Jr., residing in South Bend, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at his residence, at the age of 62. He was born on May 13, 1956, in LaGrange, IN, to Billy Ray Stump, Sr., and Elsie Rose (Hoffman) Stump.

Billy is survived by his companion, Dale Backus of South Bend; his son, Justin (Consuelo) Stump of Lafayette, IN; granddaughter, Chloe Stump of Lafayette; grandson, Troy Ray Stump; his mother, Elsie Rose Hoffman; three sisters, Kathy Stump of Avon Park, FL; Rose (Tom) Eslinger of Granger, IN; and Dee (Bill) Leitch of Wolf Lake, IN; and a niece and three nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his father and his son, Troy Stump, who passed on September 29, 2016.

Billy was retired as pipe insulator for HIFA Local 75. He served as a trustee and board member of the Clay Democratic Club. Billy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and racing.

Funeral services for Billy will be held at 5:00pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Homes—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Pastor Chuck Wotring will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-5:00pm on Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
