Brian Uetz Obituary

Brian Uetz, age 44, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence in Granger, IN, three years after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Brian was born on December 13, 1973 in Cape May Court House, NJ, to Ronald and Maureen (McGuire) Uetz.

Brian married the former Clara Renee Lagowski on November 14, 1998 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. In addition to his wife, Brian is survived by his daughter, Lillian Uetz; his son, Owen Uetz; father, Ronald Uetz of North Wildwood, NJ; brothers, Ronald Uetz of Manville, NJ, and Michael (Amy) Uetz of Cedar Grove, NJ; niece, Jacklyn; nephews, Charles, Oscar, and Joseph; step-grandmother, Helen Uetz of Vincentown, NJ; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. Brian was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth McGuire, Lewis Uetz, and Lou and Lillian Camp.

Brian graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in communications and theatre. He was employed as an IT systems engineer at Press Ganey Associates for 18 years. Brian will be remembered as being a friend to all, devoted husband and father, and excelled at making everyone laugh through jokes, comedy skits, or pranks. Brian loved football, hockey and baseball, faithfully following the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Notre Dame and was a fantasy football commissioner for over 20 years.  He truly enjoyed planning Disney family vacations, board games, music, and creating legendary firework shows. Brian focused on creating memories for his children and loved his family deeply.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am-1:00pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Homes—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Funeral services for Brian will be held at 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN.
