Carlton proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1963. He retired in 1999 as Senior Foreman from Rockwell Automation Dodge, following 44 years of faithful service. Carlton's greatest joy was spending time with his family. They enjoyed going to northern Michigan to the summer cottage. Everyone knew his favorite time of the year was winter; he enjoyed snowmobiling. However, on a nice sunny day he would not pass on a good day of fishing along with his yearly visit to the Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR race. His favorite football teams were the Colts, Bears and Notre Dame.
