Christopher Campanale Obituary
Christopher Damien Campanale, 60, residing in South Bend, passed away at 7:22 pm Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in his home. He was born April 4, 1958 in Mishawaka to Eugene A. Campanale and Joan T. (Ernst) Larson, and remained a lifelong area resident.
Chris graduated from Clay High School in 1976 and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from IUSB. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Chris was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He loved get-togethers with his family and loved being the center of attention. Chris was a self-employed house painter and would do anything for anyone at anytime. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Chris is survived by his mother, Joan Larson of Mishawaka; stepmother, Rosalie Campanale of Notre Dame; siblings, Beth M. Daugherty of Richmond, VA, Anthony (Jennifer) Campanale of Oak Park, IL and Carol (Sam) Adcock of Vienna, VA; step-siblings, Lisa (Amy Heller) Shaffer of South Bend, Beth (John) Scott of Westfield, IN, David (Linda Kish) Shaffer of Hot Springs Village, AR and Chris (Sabine) Shaffer of Carmel, IN; and eight nieces and nephews; as well as a special friend, Melanie Weller of Granger. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Campanale on February 13, 2017.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, August 20, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Chris will be laid to rest at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday, August 19, 2018 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Chris may be donated to Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619.
