David Irving departed from this life Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Healthwin Specialized Care, surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Curry-Irving, father, Cleveland Irving, three sisters, Louise Westmoreland of Detroit, MI, Clementine Irving of Milwaukee, WI, Janice Henderson, Detroit, MI, a brother, Cleveland Irving, Jr. and a special cousin, Ray Vinson.
Surviving are his daughter, Pamela Lynn Blair of South Bend, IN, grandson, Langston Tyler Blair of Indianapolis, IN, four sisters, Moneta Wells of Kankakee, IL, Ethel Cotton of Flint, MI, Gloria Jones of Detroit, MI and Clara Irving of Elkhart, IN, two brothers, Otis Irving (Dana) and Thomas Irving (Sacajawea) of Elkhart, IN. And a host of nieces and nephews.
Dave was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Elkhart City Sanitation Department as a machinist. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge #298, South Bend, IN.
We are especially thankful to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN where Dave was a heart transplant recipient for over twenty-two years. Dave’s wish was to see his grandson grow up and we are thankful for a wish come true.
Funeral services will be held at Palmer Funeral Home-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 with viewing/visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
