Donald E. Dowling

Donald E. Dowling, 53 years old, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at home in South Bend.  Donald was born on July 4, 1963 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Helen (Cingota) Dowling.  On October 20, 1986 in Chicago, Donald married the love of his life Susan (Rychlock) Dowling.

 Along with his loving wife, Susan, Donald is survived by their two children, Darlein Caprio and Donald Dowling; five grandchildren who loved him and called him “Papa”, Eric, Nathan, Meadow, Lucas and Theodore; sisters, Nelly, Cathy, and Colleen; and brothers, Patrick, John, George, James and Robert.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. 

 Donald worked as a supervisor in shipping container yards. He enjoyed collecting coins and spending time with his loved ones. Donald will be remembered as a proud and loving husband, father, and grandpa.

 A celebration of the life of Donald E. Dowling will take place at a later date.  Palmer Funeral Home – River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting with arrangements.
