Milton, Edgar's father, was the brother of my grandmother, Lura Mae Erskin Welch of Riverdale, MI. I am so sorry for this family's loss. I know my grandma was very proud of Edgar and his ministry. I remember dear Uncle Milton and Mattie also. The Erskins were strong in the Lord. My initial introduction to faith in the Lord came from my grandma Lura. I recall stories of how great grandpa Evan Erskin, Milton's father, would take his carriage with his horses to the church very early in the morning on Sundays to light the lamps for the congregation. Evan and Estella were wonderful people...I remember them well. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Dear Glenda and family,
It has been many years since we have seen you but we do hope you remember us as we were so blessed to be a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ. It would have been in the 1960's as a young married couple that we visited your church. Brother Ed was a tremendous blessing to us and his ministry and Sunday School class which he taught helped us so much in growing our faith and walk with the Lord.
Although we lived in Elkhart, we continued driving to Granger every Sunday. In 1973 our oldest daughter Sherry was 8 years old and her sister Debra was 6 1/2, we felt it necessary to find a church closer to Elkhart as we were eager to get our daughters involved with church youth groups. It was a hard decision to make as we loved you and Ed and the people at Harris Prairie. However, God directed us to a Bible believing church and we continued to grow in our faith. Our three children are all married now but praise the Lord they have families of their own and they continue to raise their children to know and love the Lord.
We moved to Indianapolis last year and a dear friend of ours, Jo Engle (who was also a member of Harris Prairie) sent us the news of Brother Ed's passing. He has touched the lives of so many and what a precious wife you have been to him all the 58 years of marriage. Thru the years we thought of you two many times. What a testimony of God's love Brother Ed left to those he ministered to.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and pray God will wrap you in his love and be your strength and comfort.
Love in Christ,
Jerry and Jeannie Rotramel (If you are ever in Indianapolis please look us up. We would love to visit with you)

Dear Glenda and Family,

The Gateway Singers were honored to work numerous times with Brother Ed at Northway Church of Christ. . Ed always greeted us with a warm genuine contagious smile and a big solid hand shake. We always enjoyed his enthusiastic piano playing as the congregation sang. What a talented and gifted servant of Jesus. When we called brother Ed with an available date in the South Bend area, brother Ed's usual answer, "We would love to have you come. The people here love your music." Thank you brother Ed and Glanda for your friendships over the years. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Glenda,

I wrote a note earlier, but I wanted you to know that I had planned to be there today. Everything was arranged at work, the car was ready, but I got a call that Mom had fallen. This was just an hour before I had planned to leave. As a result, I was not able to attend. I'm so sorry. Mom's is doing pretty well, though she has the worst black eye of her life!

You and Ed have meant the world to the Boden family. I will never forget when you walked through the door for Ray's memorial service. I'm not sure Ed should have been there, but it meant so much to all of us. The plan was for me to be there today as well. You have been remembered in our prayers, and our love will always remain. Oh yeah...and I have the memorial Bible from First Christian. We'll see that you get it.

Our condolences to "Aunt" Glenda, Kim and Jim. We will truly miss "Uncle" Ed. So many memories listening to my dad and Ed reminisce about the "good old days". But my fondest memory was Ed coming to my grandpa's guneral. After dinner, I asked him to play a song on the piano. By the time he was done, the whole family was in the church sanctuary telling stories of GrNdpa. What a great memory. May you feel God's arms of comfort around you at this time.

We know it's Victory Day for Ed and we rejoice in that promise. However, the personal loss to you, Glenda and rest of family, is so very real. Our hearts ache for you as we ask the Comforter to do a great work in your hearts. He was such a special friend to the whole family. What precious times we shared. The two of you were such great partners together in your ministries. We will be forever grateful.

My prayers are with all of you at this time. I loved Brother Ed from the first day I met him at Harris Prairie Church of Christ. Loretta Cecrle invited me for an evening service and from that moment on, I was in awe of Brother Ed's sermons. It was because of Loretta and him that I accepted Jesus as my Savior. He was such a loving man. I remember one time in a sermon he mentioned that when he met Jesus, he wanted to hear "Well done, thy good and faithful servant". He has now heard that. He was a blessing to so many people. He will truly be missed by all of us.

I remember a song Brother Ed sang. I'm not sure of the name of the song, but it went something like this...'anybody here want to walk on golden streets? say I do',
' anybody here want a home with love forever? say I do', etc.... so now I imagine that He is now at home, and walking on those golden streets. With many, many friends to meet him, because of his faithfulness to his Lord and savior through out all his years of service. I know my family is one family that He greatly impacted! We are a family of 90+ members, and again, as the song goes...thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed! So glad you served the Lord with such passion. You certainly convinced this very scared, painfully shy and backward girl, that you believed! Your passion drew me to the truth, the truth that Jesus was alive! And that I needed Him. Because of you I grew to know and Love Jesus through your sermons and the songs we sang, so Thank you! You stayed the course and ended well!

Thank you for marrying my husband Bill Condon and me 37 years ago. I will never forget you! Your powerful sermons always brought me to attention. I remember staying at your home with my friend, your daughter Kim. We always had a great time. I also remember traveling with your family to Michigan to attend a flower show.
You played the organ at my Grandmas nursing home for her Birthday. You were a wonderful person and I was privileged to have met you.

Rest In Peace! He will surely be missed. Ed was a great friend to my family. My dad helped to bring Ed to Elkhart Church of Christ. He officiated my wedding and my dad's funeral in 1999, my sister's wedding in 1994, and we flew him out to Pennsylvania in 1995 to play the organ at my other sister's wedding! He was a blessing to know, and he touched so many lives. Prayers to the family.

Grandpa shoe I love you so much. I will always have the amazing memory of the day you baptized me and led me to Christ. You changed my life forever and I will always live for our Lord and do my best to bring people to Christ just like you did. No judgement just treating others the way Jesus does. There will never be another man like you and I am so blessed that God brought our families together. Thank you. I love you and will see you again.

He invited the Ozark Impact Brass and Singers to perform at Harris Prairie, was a great host and we connected into a fine friendship. He was a wonderful supporter of us and we enjoyed hearing his "God's Patriots." May our good Lord provide you comfort and strength. It's hard to remember all that Edgar Dale meant to our family, there is so much. Minister, piano teacher, brother, marriage "officiant" (who may not have been legal in Michigan) and on and on. Ed, your presence here will be missed, but your memory will live on and on. "Knowing what I know about heaven, Is all I need to let you go."
