Eleanor M. Petty

Eleanor Maxine Petty, 89, residing at Southfield Village, South Bend, IN passed away at 12:30 AM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her residence.  She was born on December 30, 1923 in South Bend, IN to the late Elmer and Arvada Lawrence.  On April 15, 1949 in South Bend, IN she married Kenneth H. Petty.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; three sons, David (Jeanette) Petty of Cassopolis, MI, James (Susan) Petty of Edwardsburg, MI and John Petty (fiance, Nance Sharpe) of St. Joseph, MI; seven grandchildren, Kenneth (Sarah) Petty, Matthew (Stacie) Petty, Alicia (Scott) MacDonald, Justin (Jen) Petty, Jodi (Matt) Strom, Jake Petty and Josie (Glen) Klink; and ten great-grandchildren.  Two brothers, Lamar Lawrence and Wayne Lawrence preceded Eleanor in death.

Mrs. Petty graduated from Riley High School, South Bend and Memorial School of Nursing.  Eleanor attended Grace United Methodist Church, South Bend where prior to death was "the oldest living member".

Private family services will be held.  Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.  Contributions in memory of Eleanor Petty may be made to Potawatomie Zoological Society, 500 S.
