Elizabeth T. Henderson, 89, of La Porte, IN passed away at 1:51 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She retired in 1989 as a Family Practitioner having practiced for over 40 years in Farmington, IL and Pine Mountain, KY. Dr. Henderson was born on September 15, 1918 in Sadorus, IL to Harold L. and Elizabeth (Schriber) Thrall and lived most of her life in Farmington, IL. On March 6, 1943 in Urbana, IL she married Ronald A. Henderson who preceded her in death on July 12, 2002.


Dr. Henderson is survived by three daughters, Laura (Jim Hunt) Henderson of Michigan City, IN, Sarah (Jolynn Nelson) Henderson of Minneapolis, MN, and Lois (Robert Sullivan) Henderson of Fairbanks, AK; and two sons, Harold (Sandra) Henderson of La Porte, IN and Richard (Maricela) Henderson of San Jose, CA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Rachel Senter, Robin Henderson, Joshua Henderson, Samuel Henderson, Peter Sullivan, Elizabeth Ann Henderson and Julia Henderson; a great granddaughter, Alexandra Lynn Miles; a sister, Miriam Foster of Urbana, IL; and a brother, James Thrall of Granger, IN.


Dr. Henderson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1940 and graduated from Medical School in December 1943. She enjoyed gardening, camping, peace activism and was an avid reader. She loved her family.


Memorial services will be held at 5:00PM Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Farmington Methodist Church, 187 W. Fulton Street, Farmington, IL 61531. Rev. Joe Richard will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the church.
