Evelyn Joan Sakara

Evelyn Joan Sakara, 89 of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:30 am Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Tanglewood Trace, Mishawaka.

On August 28, 1929, she was born in South Bend to Julia and John (Karsas) Kotal.  She was united in marriage to Anton Adam Sakara on September 27, 1947 in South Bend, whom preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of South Bend, Evelyn retired from St. Joe Regional Medical Center, South Bend in 1994, after serving 38 years.  She was also a member of St Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend.

Evelyn is survived by her three children, Carolann (Clyde) Burchette, San Diego, California; Anthony John (Susan) Sakara, Niles, Michigan and Norm (Tatiana) Sakara, San Diego, California.  She is also survived by two grandsons, Steven Anthony Sakara and David Alexander Sakara, both of New York.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held Thursday, May 30th, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana  46615. Burial will be held privately at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.
