On April 6, 1949, Evelyn married Robert A. Walker, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 18, 1970. Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert A. Walker, Jr., of South Bend; two daughters, Linda (John) Annable of Sammamish, WA, and Julie (Doug) Magers of West Lafayette, IN; six grandchildren, Marcus Annable and Joe Annable of Sammamish, WA, Jordan (Kandi) Annable of Covington, WA, Grace (Chris) Melonas of Seattle, WA, Benjamin Magers of Ft. Evelyn was an administrative assistant for the federal government and attended Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed travel and was able to go on many vacations and cruises. Evelyn was very active socially and never met a stranger. She belonged to two card clubs and was a member of the Purple Ladies Society with several lifelong friends. She also loved water aerobics and rarely missed a class. Evelyn enjoyed going to restaurants (linner) with dear friends. However, her most favorite activity was to be with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who knew her as “Gege”, whom she adored and was adored by them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
