Faye Heaps “Cupcake” Schulze, 78, passed away Monday afternoon, June 11, 2018 in Elkhart. Faye was born July 28, 1939 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Jesse M. and Nancy M. McKay Heaps. She was united in marriage to Richard P. “Doober” Schulze, who has preceded her in death, as well as two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Matheny and Jan Oleane Marchman, and three brothers, Robert Heaps, Willard Heaps, and Alva Lee Heaps.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Karen R Vincent of St Petersburg, Florida, and Tina Cherie McMasters-Ray of Alabama; grandchildren, Jessica Bobbitt, Jeffrey Coleman, Jr., Ashley Faye Coleman, and three other surviving grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Jaylen Bobbitt, Kaliyah Jones, and Kaedyn Bobbitt, and nine other surviving great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a dog named Jesse that she adored.

Faye was a 50-year resident of South Bend and spent her life as a homemaker and mother. She loved to work in her yard planting trees and shopping for collectibles.
