Flora Carson (Bradford) Obituary

Flora Mae Carson (Bradford)

Sunrise: January 28, 1939 – Sunset: February 03,2018

Our beloved Flora was born Saturday January 28, 1939, the second of what would in time become the five children of Quizola and Mose Hart Sr. Before her was an elder sister, Anne (Winters), and behind her: sister Clyde (McClinton), brother Mose Hart Jr., and finally sister Rita (Young). Sometime after which, The Harts relocated to Memphis, TN where they’d remain for nearly two decades.

As time went on Flora blossomed into the epitome of a classic woman of the time. Not only was she beautiful, but she was all brains and sailed gracefully through her academic years racking up many scholastic accolades and accomplishments. She’d also developed a keen eye for fashion, which would see her acquire a massive collection of shoes, jewelry, and wardrobe over the years. In addition to her interest in fashion she also had begun to pursue a career in the medical field. Then after nearly twenty years in south, Flora and her family came up North, settling in Chicago. From here she would follow through with her medical studies quickly becoming a Registered Ultra Sound Technician. It was also in Chicago that she would meet the man who would become her first husband, Handsome Lee Carson IV. Through their union, she was blessed with six children: Handsome Lee V, Sharon (Harris), Sheila (Neals), Wesley, Sharice, and Maurice.

Flora, now Flora Carson, and family would eventually settle in the Belair neighborhood of Markham, Il. a south Chicago suburb. Over the years she and Handsome’s children went on to have families of their own which include; Handsome Lee Carson V (Arnett) 9 children, Sharon (Edward Sr.) Harris Three children, Sheila (Odell Sr.) Neals Two children, & Wesley (Renee’) 4 children. Sometime after Handsome’s death Flora went on to marry Jackie “Big Jack” Bradford. Through this union she would be blessed with two additional children: Jackie Jr. (Theresa) Bradford 3 Children, and Marie Antoinette Bradford-George (Robert) 3 children. It was at this time that Flora and Jack relocated to Michigan City, In. where they’d live until his eventual passing. After which time she would relocate to South Bend, In. to later be joined by two of her children and baby sister for nearly 15 years. Here she became an ever-faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Once more she would relocate, this time to North Carolina to spend what would become her remaining years in the company and care of her sons, Wesley, Little Jack, and their families. There she was able to enjoy quality time and the Carolina sunshine as she rang in her 79th birthday just before her passing on Saturday February 3, 2018. Flora was proceeded in death by: daughter Sharice, first and second husbands, Handsome and Jackie respectively, and daughter Sharon. Through both marriages Flora is survived by: 6 children, 23 grandchildren, and 51 great grandchildren. As well as siblings: Anne Winters, Clyde McClinton, Mose Hart Jr., and Rita Young. Along with closest her friends: Charlotte Bradford and Mother Juanita Kyle, in addition to countless other family, friends, coworkers and associates she leaves behind to cherish her memory.
