Harold L. Blann

MISHAWAKA – Harold L. Blann, 78, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Golden Living Center, Mishawaka.

Harold was born on January 13, 1940 in Carlisle, Indiana to the late Rollie Blann and Fidelis (Owens) Blann.  He was raised on the family farm in Oak Town, IN, graduated from Carlisle High School, Carlisle, IN, and lived most of his life in Niles, Michigan.  Harold loved to build and operate remote airplanes, cars, and boats.  He worked for six years at Rural King in Niles, eighteen years as a supervisor at White Farm Equipment, and several years following at Georgie Boy in Edwardsburg.  He attended Hope Community Church in Niles, MI.  Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie and Fidelis Blann; daughters, Barbara L. Blann, Rhonda K. Campbell, and Marsha Schwab; and six brothers and five sisters.

On December 24, 1991 in South Bend, he married Mary (Perry) Blann, who survives.  He is also survived by daughter, Gina M. (Wayne) Campbell-Sams of South Bend, Crystal L. Buzas of Granger, Nicole (Troy) Blann of Niles; sons, Dan (Karen) Blann of Bloomington, Edward Blann of Bloomington, Keith E. Campbell of Mishawaka, and Christopher Blann of Michigan; plus many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are sisters, Sue Cox of Houston, TX and Kay Gillham of Sullivan, IN; sister-in-law, Jane Blann of Carlisle, IN; brother, Bill (Patty) Blann of Brownstown, IN.  And three children from his second marriage, Rob Peterson, Terri (Kevin) Odle, and Diane (Kelly) Odle. Also surviving are three brothers-in-law, Sam, Bruno, and Frankie; and three sisters-in-law, Betty, Teresa and Margie.

A Memorial Gathering will begin at 1:00 pm Friday, December 14, 2018 with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will follow the service at the funeral home till 5:00 PM.  Memorial Contributions may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Online condolences may be sent to www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
