Hazel Mary Burns

Hazel Mary Burns, 91, of Michigan City, IN, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Michigan City, IN.   She was born on December 20, 1922 in Salem, AR to Henry Sherman and Addie (Craft) Banning. 

Mrs. Burns is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Jean Adams of Jacksonville, FL; three sons, James R. (Gloria Jeanne) Barker of Ocala, FL, William H. Barker, Jr. of Michigan City, IN and Robert (Eleanor) Barker of Goodrich, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Ursala Donahue of Melbourne, AR and Connie Dove of Walkerton, IN; brother, Leon Banning of MO and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sherman and Addie Banning; husbands, William Barker, Paul Sherron and Jack Burns; two daughters, Kaye Smith and Jody Fogarty and two brothers.  The family has grown so much, please don't be offended if let out, know that you are still loved.

Mrs. Burns lived most of her life in South Bend and Plymouth, moving to Michigan City a year ago.  She has worked for Ball Band, Raco and Magnum Security.

Funeral services will be held at  11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014  at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
