Irene O. Fraser

Irene O. Fraser, 94, of Westfield, IN, formerly of North Liberty, IN passed away at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Copper Trace, Westfield, IN.  She was born on August 21, 1923 in Grovertown, IN to the late Benjamin and Myrtle (Crites)  Ecker.  On August 28,  1943, she married Marion Fraser, who preceded her in death in 1990.

Irene was  a lifelong resident of North Liberty.  She was a teacher for the South Bend Community School Corporation, retiring in 1984 after twenty-two years.  She was a member of the North Liberty Church of the Brethren. 

Irene is survived by two daughters, Debra J. (Gerry) Salin of Indianapolis, IN and Barbara A. (Ken) Bartkowiak of South Bend, IN; two sons, Terry L. (Diane) Fraser of Carmel, IN and James R. (Debbie) Fraser of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, AJ Peterman, Lisa (Dmitry) Epstein, Stacy (Brett) Stopczynski and Amy Bartkowiak; three great grandchildren, Lily Epstein, Jacob Epstein and Andrew Stopczynski and a brother, Dick (Geneal) Ecker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at North Liberty Church of the Brethren, 201 E. Market Street, North Liberty, IN 46554.  Pastor  Don Carroll will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. - 1: 00 p.m. Monday at the church.  Palmer Funeral Home-North Liberty is assisting the family.
