Mr. Jack F. Johnson, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Hospice House of South Bend after an extended illness. He was born on April 24, 1935 in Taylor, Mississippi to the late Willie B. and Mary D. (Brommer) Johnson.
Jack was employed for 32 years at Bendix as a mechanical technician, retiring in 2000.
He was a faithful member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for many years until his illness prevented him from attending.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Vanita Johnson, Mary Louise Johnson-Poindexter and Essie Johnson; six grandchildren: Omeisha Bond, Osjane'e Johnson, Mary Johnson, Toni Scott, DaShayna Johnson and Jayceon Stuckey; two stepchildren, Mary A. Hairston and Sandra Taylor (Harrell); along with a host of great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
He also leaves to cherish his memory a special great-niece, JaShay Johnson; a special friend, Glenda Cotton, Albert Cotton, Kenny Garron and Allison Johnson, to whom he was Grandpa and Uncle Jack.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Johnson and Mary D. Johnson; sister Allie B. Johnson and brother James L. Johnson.
Jack will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Services for Mr. Jack F. Johnson will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend.
