James William Crittle, Sr.

SOUTH BEND – James William Crittle, Sr., 70, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 2:20 AM Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Trail Point Village Nursing Home, South Bend.

James was born on March 29, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Willie Crittle and Mary (Rogers) Crittle. 

On December 5, 1994 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Sandra S. (Benge) Crittle, who survives.  James retired after many years of working in maintenance.  He also enjoyed working at Vites Farms, Niles during the summer months.  James loved to go fishing and bowling, and also liked watching golf on television.  He and Sandra enjoyed going to the movies.  James was well loved and will be missed by many people.

James is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Crittle of South Bend; his daughters, Lolita Lewis Crittle, Toya Mines, both of Chicago; son, James William (Carrie) Crittle, Jr. of Chicago; six grandchildren, Dylan, Sophia, Paige, Kiana, Ashley and Brandi; four great grandchildren; his mother, Mary (Rogers) Crittle of Chicago; sisters, Gloria Smith, Lynn McKnight, Helen Hicks, Pam (Benjil) Robinson, Sharon Crittle, Suzzett Gibson, and Phyllis Rogers; Sandra’s daughter, Tammy (Buitoni) Mays of South Bend; and the mother of his children, Sylvia Pinnock, of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Crittle; and his two brothers, Alan Rogers and Billy Crittle.
