Jewel A. (Larimer) Court

Jewel A. Court, 83, of Lakeville, IN passed away June 15, 2017.  Jewel was born November 12, 1933 in Elkhart, IN to the late Otis and Mary (Ulrey) Larimer.  She moved to South Bend, IN in 1958, later moving to Lakeville in 1973, making her home there for over 44 years.  On October 26, 1952 in Elkhart, IN she married David R. Court, who survives.

In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Court is survived by her children, Deborah Barkey of Middlebury, IN, Robert Court of South Bend, Stephen (Barb) Court of Bremen, IN, James Court of Huntington, IN; Diane (Vic) Fischer of North Liberty and Susan (Angel) Robledo of South Bend; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and sister, Carolyn (Larry) McCullough of Oceanside, CA.

Mrs. Court was a graduate of Central High School in Elkhart, IN and attended the University of Michigan as a music major.  She particularly enjoyed classical music.  Mrs. Court was a private instructor of piano and flute, an accompanist for contests and concerts for area high school students, and was the organist at Crest Manor Church of the Brethren and Ridgedale Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Court was a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed life on the Osborne Road farm and being surrounded by her family

The family plans a private interment prior to the Celebration of Life services on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N Michigan St, Lakeville, IN.   Friends are welcome to celebrate with Jewel’s family at 3:00 p.m. and may also visit with the family after the Celebration Service at the church.   Palmer Funeral Home - Lakeville Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Court may be made to the Heifer Project International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202, the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N Michigan St, Lakeville, IN 46536, or the Salvation Army (Kroc Center), 900 West Western Avenue, South Bend, IN 46601.
