John Arthur Snyder

John Arthur Snyder, 73, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 3:18 pm Saturday, March 18, 2017.  He was born on September 4, 1943 in South Bend, IN, to the late John Devon and Ruth (Loucks) Snyder. 

John is survived by his wife, Betty (Phipps) Snyder; children, Deanna Ramierez, Dawn Ortiz, Deneen Snyder, Darrick (Jacinta) Snyder, John (Janet) Snyder and Christopher Snyder; seventeen grandchildren ; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Wasio and brother Ronald (Vickie) Snyder.

‎John was a lifelong Michiana area resident.  He worked as a truck driver for many years and retired from the Teamsters Union Local 364 after thirty-plus years. One of his favorite hobbies was racing at the local tracks in South Bend, New Paris, Mottville and Plymouth. He always held a special place in his heart for his dog, Bindi. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services for John will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, 11:00 am at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 Michigan Street, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 22, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of John Arthur Snyder may be offered to the family c/o Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 Michigan Street, South Bend, IN  46614.  Online condolences may be sent to the Snyder family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
