SOUTH BEND – John Dale Obenour, 66, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home.

John was born on December 6, 1952 in Marshall, Michigan to Richard J. Obenour and Elaine A. (Warner) Obenour. His father, Richard, preceded him in death on August 15, 1957, and his mother, Elaine, preceded him in death on February 17, 1990. John was a lifelong resident of the South Bend area, graduating from the former Jackson High School. John worked for many years in customer service at Meijer. He was very close to his aunt and uncle, James and Charlene Beck, who in many ways were like his parents. James and Charlene have also preceded him in death. He is survived by several cousins, including Ellen (Jeremy) Wozniak of New Carlisle, IN, Laura Munday of Sodus, MI, Pam Phillips of Three Oaks, MI, and Steve Obenour of Gainsville.

There are no services planned at this time. Burial will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan, where John will be laid to rest next to his parents. Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
