John Arthur Zimmerman

John Arthur Zimmerman, 83 years old, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in his home in South Bend, Indiana.  John was born on August 14, 1935 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Arnold and Florence Zimmerman.  He has remained a lifelong resident of Northern Indiana.  On July 14, 1956 in South Bend John married Delores I. Sills whom preceded him in death on April 20, 2017.

John is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Zimmerman of Bumpass, VA and three grandchildren, Tiffany (Joe) Duvall, Hillary Worswick and Cody Worswick. Great grandchildren surviving are Max Duvall and James Carson. Also surviving on his wife’s side are his sisters-in-law Rosalie Woodcox and Marjory (Paul) Rupert.

John was employed at various manufacturing plants in the South Bend area throughout his career.  Prior to his retirement he worked at Manchester Tank in Elkhart, Indiana.

A Memorial Service will be held for John at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN. Minister Allen Holt will officiate.   Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home prior to the service from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
